ORIGINAL CLIENT LOGO

FINAL REBRANDED CLIENT LOGO

Case Study
Collectible Toystore
Our client, RetroForce Toy Store wanted to rebrand their online store as well as open up a brick and mortar location. However they wanted their new branding to not just appeal to men who love to collect, but also make it appealing to moms and children. You can see their original red logo and website which looked too masculine.
They wanted the new name and branding to have a classic or “retro” feel that evoked nostalgia, but also make it look fun with a universal appeal. Since they wanted to expand their business outside of toys, the new look had to be able to encompass this new direction.

Mood Boards
We started with designing 3 distinct Mood Boards to help capture the new direction they wanted to help visually identify them to the world going forward.
They chose this final board, as they felt it truly encompassed the fun, bold new direction that they were looking for!
What is a mood board? It's a collection of visual assets that can include colors, images, text, logos, photos, or any other visual inspiration.

Naming Stage
Once we had our chosen mood board direction, we started to look at new name ideas that strategically alligned with this new look for RetroForce Toys. We created 4 distinct naming buckets for the name ideas. We also had to make sure each name was available to copyright/trademark and had the same URL name available. They decided on the name “Retroverse Toys” which hit all of the following asks:
Fun / distinct / memorable / matched the approved mood board / was available to register the TM and the URL.

Logo Design Stage
Now that we have our approved name, Retroverse Toys, we started the work on designing the logo. Below are the 6 black & white logos we designed and the chosen, finalized logo with color added, on the right.

Brand Toolkit
After building the final brand toolkit (below), we then designed some fun mock-ups to show how the branding works.

For Retroverse Toys, since they are both, an e-commerce and a brick and mortar store, we made sure their branding worked across all applications.
